Several blogs with one API key?

  • Unknown's avatar

I have several WP blohs outside WP.com and I used one API key for their Stats feature. But I then noticed that my stats for all my blogs are mixed up – when I look at stats graph or at search keywords reports, I see all numbers and keywords fo all my blogs mixefd together instead of the only one I’m logged to now.

I thought the reason of this problem is that I use one API key for all my blogs. so I decided to create separate API key for each of my blogs. I then went to WP.com to create several accounts and was frustrated to see that I can’t use the same email address for all my new accounts!

Kindly ask you for support on this matter. How can I create several API keys for my several blogs hosted outside of WP.com without create several email accounts for them as well?

Could someone please answer this question. I think it is insane when people like actually choose to PAY to host wordpress, and yet we don’t get the same access as wordpress.com users. I can’t stand that there is absolutely no one we call and GOD forbid, talk to a like person about crap like this.

I have hosted my own blog on godaddy using wordpress and cannot get an API key. I have one on a wordpress.com account, but it is useless on my blog.

I am really frustrated with this tool right now…

I’m having the same kind of trouble.. I have an internal AND an external blog. The internal stats work great, but on my external site, with the same API key, I get FLAT, 0, zilch for stats info. I tried to sign up for a NEW blog, then get a new API, but then the stats program (latest version) barfed and gave me an API error. Help please, pretty please!

note that you can only register a self hosted blog to ONE wp.com API/account at this time.
As far as management of blogs on accounts, regarding the plug in

search the wordpress.ORg forums to find instructions.

If it is a technical issue follow vivianpages comment and contact wordpress.com support.

  • @pikesan,
The most common problem when stats are not recording for an external blog is that the theme you are using doesn’t have <?php wp_footer(); ?> in footer.php.

If you are still having problems, please send us a support request.
