Several blogs with one template?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi all,

I’m hoping to create three blogs in total and currently have one (just set up last night!) The template I used had to be paid for so I’m hoping I can create the other two from the same template to save money. I understand I’ll still need to purchase two additional domain addresses (all to be.com wordpress blogs)

Is it possible to make the other two from the same template? and if so, does anyone have any advice on how to do it? I’m very new to this side of WordPress!

    Many thanks

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Domain addresses, ie URLs are free at WordPress.com. CUSTOM domain names, like Whatever.com instead of Whatever.wordpress.com are not free.

But they’re also not necessary if you just want a custom design. That’s a separate upgrade. You do NOT ever have to buy the entire package.

Just go to the main WordPress.com page and click to start a new blog. You can even do it right from your Admin bar if you’re in the Global dashboard. Remember to buy each upgrade from the appropriate dashboard, ie the dashboard of the blog you want the upgrade for.

Doing this, of course, doesn’t save you any money at all. Buying an upgrade for one blog doesn’t give the upgrade or even a discount, to your other blogs. Why not start with free themes on those?

Yeah we’re happy paying the additional so the “.wordpress” part of the domain isn’t there.

I went to the wordpress.com then “my blogs” and “create another blog” – I’m just confused about the upgrade you mention – I have one theme at the moment that I’ve learned how to use and would like to use for the other two (same layout but different brand colours); if I pay for the upgrade, once logged in can I use that template again?

Sorry for confusion, I’m not fully used to this yet!

I’m happy paying for the upgrade, it’s no problem… I just don’t want to pay it and then find out that te Debut theme I paid for can’t be used / needs buying again. I just need to know before I buy the upgrade if it’s possible to use the theme repeatedly?

No, the premium theme you bought applies only to the blog/site you bought it for.
If you want to add more sites using that theme, then you’ll have to purchase the theme for each of them.

When you purchase a premium theme, it is available for the lifetime of that blog. If you would like to use the same theme across multiple blogs, you’ll have to purchase the theme for each blog.
