Several interactive topics on blog?
-
I’m building a website for our neighborhood association that is mostly static pages. But I’d like to use the “blog” page for an interactive forum that has several themes for people to comment on and have an ongoing “conversation”. Click on various titled threads and be able to read other peoples comments and then post their own comment. Possible? Hard to do? So far as I can see, the “comments” forms only send comments back to my email address.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That’s a forum, not a blog. You could use the P2 theme, which is set up to facilitate this, but you might be happier registering a forum somewhere else and using a Custom Menu to put it in your header.

Thank you for your reply. I just looked at P2 and it would really make me start over on my site which is currently 2010, and I’m happy w/ overall…just want to add a forum page. You say I can create a forum @ anther site and then have a link to go there? My site currently has a custom menu. I was planning to have a forum be for members only (password protected), would that require an additional password?
If you can direct me to an example of a forum done in this way, I’d be most appreciative.

There are links to some forums below – the forum would be a stand alone site so it would require your visitors to have a second log in – they could use the same name probably on the forum – but it would be a separate log in –
The link to the forum could be put in the header line with a custom menu as noted above –
The Post below has the links
