several question re widgets in footer in Motif

I’m new to WordPress (as of earlier today). Just got a shell of a site up using the Motif theme. Have made a few successful CSS customizations, but I don’t know what I’m doing, to be honest.

Here’s what I’m wrestling with, all having to do with the widgets in the three widget areas of the footer:

1 – I’d like to make the text in each of the widgets in the footer darker/black (both text and the email link). I’ve changed the background color of the footer-widget-area to a different and lighter color, so the original text colors are washing out.

2 – I’d like to decrease the vertical space underneath the two image widgets and the text widgets that are below them. Not a big distraction, but it seems like it should be tightened up a bit.

3 – It would be great if there’s a way to center everything in each of the three widget areas. It looks a bit off having everything left-justified. I know how to center the two images using the image widget settings. I have no idea what I might do as far as the text widgets.

I hope that all makes. Would really appreciate any help/advice.

    Thank you!
