Several SELA questions from a newbie

    Hi all,

    We have been taking advantage of a nasty snow day to furiously work on our site. Husband and I are NOT good with CSS, although we’ve been trying to learn but have made some things worse as a result (thankfully have been able to fix it back).

    Our website is http://www.7freedomsfarm.com

    Questions:

    1) Make the text box on Welcome page less opaque WITHOUT MAKING EVERYTHING ELSE TRANSLUSCENT. Looks like a common question but we haven’t been able to make it work
    2) On our “Policies” page – is there any way to continue the barnboard background all the way dow, or keep it fixed while the information is scrolled through?
    3) On the other pages we have either Grid Page or Full Page Width with a featured image… we did add a background too (the same barnboard, it’s gone now) but there is still a ton of white space after the photo. Any way to bring the barnboard background back in to the sides?

    1. Currently the text box on the welcome page has an opacity of 0.95 coming from the following rule. You can lower it up to 0, at which point the box disappears :-)

    So try lowering it down by 0.1 and see which value will you like.

    I also added color property so if you make it less opaque you can pick a bold color to make the text prominent.

    2. and 3. the white space on the sides is a margin so it is not possible to replace margin with a background image. We can get rid of the whitespace ( margin) using this rule: 

    .content-wrapper.full-width.with-featured-image {
    margin: 0
}

    But I am not sure if you would like the result. Just give it a try and chuck this rule if you don’t like the result.

    How do I add the ‘read more’ link as shown on the front page demo. I want the full text to drop down when ‘read more’ is clicked.

    I have tried <!–more—> but doesn’t seem to work in the text widget. I use pages not posts as its a business website.

    Please help.

    How do I get the picture in the circle to show in the testimonials box as shown on the front page demo of the Sela theme?
