Shady “chargeback” practices

    WP demanding $15 charge to reverse unwanted, unrequested business level membership. Small fee, sure, but bad business practice.

    Jan 6: notice of $300 charge; same day, I contact WP to get this charge reversed

    Jan 7: WP response that “A refund will be issued for annual plans purchased within 14 days, while monthly plans have a 7-day refund window.” No problem, it would seem.

    But, WP issued no refund, despite weeks passing. Ultimately had to get credit card company to reverse charge. Now WP holding domain name renewal hostage unless bogus chargeback fee is paid.

    No telephone help line, so stuck in exchange with email “customer service”. Zero help.

    Is the principle worth the time to port everything to wordpress.org? Probably not.
