Share and like buttons not showing on blog posts

Hi, my site automatically had Facebook share and like buttons on pages but not on posts. I’ve tried to follow the instructions to turn them on and cleared out my browser cache but with no luck. I want a facebook like and share link on the first page of this site which is a post:

    ***

    Thanks in advance!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Note, the blog I need help on is NOT dennisbrooks.com which was automatically added below my message. Thanks again.

Hi there, the share buttons are actually showing up on the post in question, as you can see on the actual post page:

They aren’t showing up on your front page, because your front page is set up to show your “posts page” which is designed to show images and links to all of your posts. When your visitors click on the title of each post, they go to the actual post page as you see above.

Hi lizthefair and thanks for responding. Is there any way I can redo the page so that when people land on it (it being the first page of the site) they can see the facebook like and share buttons? I want to somehow create a static home page and the only way I could figure out how to do that was to create a blog post. I’m not going to be blogging on this site and only need a home page and a list of other pages on the top as are there now.

    Thanks so much

There is. Here are the steps.

    1) Move your content from a Post to a Page
    2) Set the image you want to appear as a featured image on the page.
    3) Set your new page as the front page

I believe you’ve done the first two steps before. The third step you do from your customizer. Choose “Customize” from your “My Sites” dropdown.

From there, Click “Front” and set your new page as the front page of your site. There is also an option there for where to publish your posts, but if you don’t intent to publish posts on the site, you can leave that one blank.

Let me know if you run into any trouble with that!

Hi again. Thank you so much for writing out the instructions. Everything worked except by creating a page to use as the ‘Front’ I was required to add a title to that page and that title was listed up top with the other pages. Is there any way around that?

You can. The key is to create a custom menu rather than using the built in one. Then you can name the front page, but leave it off the menu. Here are the instructions for creating a custom menu:
