    Hi there,
Please disable your cap locks key as SHOUTING! makes text hard to read and is considered to be rude behavior in cyberspace.

onlineontheair.com is not hosted by WordPress.COM and we do not provide support for it. We provide support only for blogs hosted by WordPress.COM and that site is not one of them.

WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support forums. Read the differences here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there.

    Resetting your WordPress.ORG password http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password
WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page

the Cap locks is a cut and paste from WordPress… thus.. touché. :-)

you will notice my words were inserted with lower case…

    but thanks for the reminder.

Help me understand how i can have WP host my site. all this time I thought you were hosting my site. i’ve been using WP since 1999 and LOVE WP!! But this past year… i’ve had all sorts of issues.

How do I get my site hosted with WP? Thanks.

I also want to consolidate my sites to one account, preferably not this one hosted elsewhere. I have four or five… Here are two that are not in use at the moment, yet may be updated soon.

    promotionsforlife.wordpress.com
    politicsforlife.wordpress.com

I’d like to migrate onlineontheair.com to the promotionsforlife.wordpress account.

please help soon as dotster has already taken my money for another year of service and i am in the process of getting my money back.

please point me into the right direction as to how to have WP host, yet without WP ads on the site.

    mega thanks!

How do I get my site hosted with WP?

WordPress.COM blogging comes with restrictions and limitations so read this very carefully http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    Moving content http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-from-wordpress-org

If you want to purchase domain mapping upgrade then read and act on what follows.

In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com subdomain blog to map from, and the domain name you desire must be available for purchase, or you must already own the domain URL.

You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard at > Store > My Upgrades to purchase upgrades for the blog.

See here if you do not own a domain http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/

See here for mapping an existing domain that you already own http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

if you already have a website you don’t want to affect, and you want to add a blog to it under a subdomain (for example, blog.yourgroovydomain.com) see here http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-subdomain/

After you do the primary blog set up it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

P.S. Not to worry about the SHOUTING! Let’s move along please. :)

wow… it sounds uber complicated. im a content creator with limited backroom knowledge. gonna read all u have sent and do my best to follow-through.

i do own the domain rights to onlineontheair.com and i can move it to a brand new WP site on one of my other existing accounts.

the current dotster-hosted onlineontheair.com blog launched july 2014. with only six months of posts, do you think I could move select posts over to the new site using the export / import functions?

would you recommend this instead of the remapping that you suggested for a person with my skill level?

do you think the free version has the fantastic catch flames responsive template?

And what fee, if any, can I pay to not have WP ads show up on the “free” WP sites.

I’ll research all that you sent and understand that I can find these answers by visiting the free version of WP. but to be honest, for almost two decades I have not understood the difference between WP blogging WP com and .org. Having a live person respond to questions is hugely appreciated and hopefully will help me understand which is the best option for onlineontheair.com

if the .com .org systems are not compatible to do an export / import, could I “move” select posts via cut and paste?

ugg – just realized that the media images would need to move too…

your recommendations will be and are appreciated… If you want to move this convo off the public site, please feel free to write via
OnlineOnTheAir.Com/Contact. I feel like a zero having this convo in a public manner… ha.

thank you for your kind and helpful responses. no rush on the reply. I’ll be offline a few hours. Mega thanks!

    Hi again,
I think your questions would be better answered by Staff than by me. I tagged this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

  • Unknown's avatar

There is not a subscribe to topics link in the sidebar… actually, there is no sidebar… however, there is a box under the text field that says Notify me of followup posts via email. It’s default setting was already checked so we should be good to go.

Thank you for notifying staff. I look forward to hearing from them. OnlineOnTheAir.Com/Contact can work for them as well or they can use the email accounts listed in my backroom.

    Thank you.

    Hi!

Let’s take a step back for a quick moment. Currently, WordPress.com, you have the following sites:

    sjosephonlineontheair.wordpress.com

    shareonlineontheair.wordpress.com

    fakefilmsincorporated.wordpress.com

You have the following blog connected by Jetpack:

    onlineontheair.com

It sounds like the main goal is to combine your sites into one WordPress.com site under one account. Is that correct?

Could you list the URLs you would like to combine together?
