Share & Like Buttons Disappeared

  First, my subscribe button and Vodpod went whack, now I noticed my ‘share’ and ‘like’ buttons have disappeared from the bottom of my blog! And I checked my sharing settings and they show I’ve got them – but I don’t see them! I even checked my blog without logging on to get an outside view. Who hid my buttons and why??? Can anyone help?

  Helloe again,
  I recall you posting earlier and I’m sorry you are having these “disappearing” issues with you blog. You will need to contact Staff. Here’s the link http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ After you use the searchbox, under the search results, at the bottom of the page there will be a section that says “Have you found the answer to your question?” You can choose either “Yes I found the answer to my question.” or “No I didn’t find the answer to my question and I would like to contact support for help.” The no option will reveal the contact form.

  OK, I finally found (it took the right phrasing) your explanation on what is happening to me from your answer to a forum question by someone who had the exact problem: “Like Button & Share,” dated February 18, 2011: “The front page of our blogs are designed to “showcase” our posts. When either the title of the post or the comments link are clicked our posts are displayed on their own page. Then at the end of the post the sharing buttons will appear and can be used after your readers read the post.”

  So that means those buttons aren’t visible at the end of our blogs only on our Home page, but if someone googles a specific tag I have, it takes them directly to the related post and not to the home page, right? You have been so helpful, I’m glad you are there @ WordPress. Thanks again!

  Yes clicking the link to the post will take all visitors to that post displayed on its own page. Sorry I dropped the ball so to speak. Thanks for searching and also for your kind words. Best wishes with your blog. :)
