How to show share buttons on front page?
-
I have to say that your site is very hard to use, not very helpful at all for new bloggers. Most frustrating!!! Why is it when I go into Dashboard and make the important changes of adding Fb and twitter Share options, then click “Save Changes,” do these still not appear on the blog? It is very important to publicize, and if you go into the dashboard menu and select these and press save changes, then obviously they should appear on the blog, right!!??? And yet, no.
Also, what kind of magic do I need to know to get my post put into a Category? One would think that when writing a post and it gives you the option of category and you select one, then that would work. And yet, no.
If you could please apply clear answers to these questions I would be most appreciative.
Thank you.

Hello there!
OK – firstly, I can see the Facebook and Twitter share options working as expected on blog posts, for example here is a screenshot of what I am seeing on this post.
It may be that you’re looking to make the share buttons appear on your blog’s homepage too, not just on the individual post pages. If so, you can make this change from that same Settings > Sharing section of your blog’s dashboard. If you scroll down the page you’ll see an option entitled “Show sharing buttons on”, and you just need to change this to “Posts, pages, and index pages” (it’s currently set to posts and pages only, which is why your sharing buttons are not showing up on your blog’s homepage, otherwise known as the index page).
I’m so sorry that you’re having problems with categories – can you walk me through what you’re doing? Which browser are you using? I did some testing, and was able to categorise a post on your blog, adding it to your Parenting category.

Hanni,
Thanks so much for your concise and helpful reply, I was able to immediately add the share buttons to my blog! However, the categories are still a mystery. At this point the post is already published, so could you please walk me through what I need to do to get the dashboard to accept the categories I tried over and over to set up and apply to it when I was writing? Also, I tried to use Widgets to add a category cloud, but I guess since it won’t take any of my categories that’s a no-go, too.
Also, I tried to use Widgets to add my Twitter tweets to my sidebar, dargging that option to the place it indicated and pressing “save,” but of course that’s not working either!!!! I really want to add links to my Blogroll but am dreading that process, as I’m sure that will be equally as obtuse, inexplicable, and frustrating. -
I am not 100% sure to understand your question, I see that you have two posts, one in each one of the two categories you created.
