Share Posts on Facebook
-
I have tried to create a sharing button for facebook and follow these guidelines : https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/its-possible-facebook-share-and-like-buttons-at-the-same-time-update?replies=6
Though i do not see it with an icon. i just see Facebook in grey between the other buttons, which is not really attractive. Am i doing something wrong?
The site where he is referring to the social buttons on the URL seem really nice, and it doesn’t look like that on my site…?
Please help me?
Thanks!! -
Hi there,
I just took a look at the forum post which you linked me too, and unfortunately it looks like the link where the original poster got the button (http://cdn.iconfinder.net/data/icons/Classy_Social_Media_Icons/16/facebook.png), seems to no longer be valid! When I tried to pull it up, I got an error page.
That means that our own servers probably couldn’t retrieve it. What you should do is find that image (or one similar), download it, save it to your Media Library, and then reference that in creating the share button. That way you don’t have to worry about some other site going offline!

Hi there, thanks for your feedback.
I have tried a couple of images, but it is not displaying correctly nor nicely. Since this button image is irretrievable, could you help me out with an image or an URL that I can use for the facebook sharing button? Thanks!! -
Hi there,
I just went to the same root website that the original link came from, iconfinder.net, and it looks like they have a number of facebook logos available which you might want to use. One such is right here:
http://www.iconfinder.com/icondetails/60823/128/blue_facebook_social_icon
From the instructions that the original forum provided, you’ll want to use the 16 pixel version (the smallest).
Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot for the information!
It certainly helped!
Can you take a look though why the buttons are not displaying in a clean way on the blog?
Thanks! -
Hi there,
The “Official Buttons” which you had selected are all different sizes, so they don’t show up in quite the same line when you view them. If however you select icon + text, they still look much the same as far as design goes, but they’re all a uniform size.
I took the liberty of selecting that for you and that is what is now displaying on your site. If you want to change it back you can do so by going to Settings and then Sharing.
