  When I try to share articles from the Internet using the ‘Share This’ button I get this message ‘The WordPress bookmarklet was deprecated. Please delete it from your web browser.’

  Why is this?

  Hi,
  The following might be relevant. In the recent topic Why “The WordPress bookmarklet was deprecated. Please delete it…” Happiness Engineer Darnell Dibbles said:

  The bookmarklet via wp-admin no longer functions — where you would click on a bookmark in your browser and it would grab stuff off of a site.

  While that feature was evidently removed, staff-doublebassd also says in the aforementioned topic:

  However, the editor itself when hitting wp-admin/press-this.php itself will keep working. You can still add a URL to your site similarly to how you did it with the old bookmarklet. To do this, add /wp-admin/press-this.php to the end of your site’s address. For example, to access the Press This feature on your (X) site, go to this address:

  https://yoursite.blog/wp-admin/press-this.php

  Correction:
  It wasn’t removed, it was “deprecated,” and it no longer functions as it did previously.
