Share via Twitter shows wrong account
-
When a post from my blog at pediatriceducation.org is shared via Twitter, it is pointed to / credited to the wrong Twitter account (@p8poseidon).
On the “Sharing Settings” page I have disconnected and reconnected and disconnected to the correct Twitter account (@pedseducation) and at the bottom of the page I have put the correct Twitter account (@pedseducation) into the box “Twitter username to include in tweets when people share using the Twitter button.”
Yet still, when someone tweets a link to my pediatriceducation.org blog it is identified as coming from @p8posedon – see here for an example: https://pediatriceducation.files.wordpress.com/2014/12/problem.jpg
From reading the support forumm it appears that this is something you have to reset for me.
To summarize I would like the Twitter account / connection to be reset.
Old Twitter account: @p8poseidon
New Twitter account: @pedseducationThanks!

Hi Donna!
I took a stab at sharing your latest post via Twitter and this is my result:
https://cloudup.com/cm6s4B7_jnXI am seeing the correct Twitter handle. I’m wondering if perhaps those having this trouble might have the old information stored in their browsers’ cache.
To test this, you can use the instructions below, then attempt to use your Twitter sharing button below your last post:
Give that a try, and please let me know how it works out for you.
Thanks much!

Yes, I agree that the Twitter sharing button now works correctly for me. When I use it, the post is now correctly credited to @pedseducation.
My problem comes when I (or anyone) goes to twitter.com and posts a link to pediatriceducation.org. When I do that I get a Tweet that looks like this:
The problem is that the blog post is being credited as coming from @p8poseidon (see the logo, the title, the Twitter handle, etc.) When you click “View on Web” it does take you correctly to the blog post on pediatriceducation.org
Resetting the cache, etc. does not seem to fix it.
It seems my problem is similar to two others that your team solved previously:

Hi there!
The links you provided to past issues with the Twitter handle were actually related the sharing button. As you mentioned, that’s already resolved in your case!
I’ve run every diagnostic test I have here for your Twitter handle/connection/display name, and everything appears as you requested.
So, let’s look at your Twitter settings. Please click on the link below:
https://twitter.com/settings/widgets
Could you make sure that your widget has the correct settings, and if not, please edit them to reflect your updated Twitter handle.
Also, I ran your latest post through the Twitter card Validator. I’m going to have you continue the process to make sure all appears as you wish.
https://cards-dev.twitter.com/validatorIn the validator, paste the whole URL of your latest post:
http://pediatriceducation.org/2014/12/15/what-are-risk-factors-for-progression-to-severe-disease-with-bronchiolitis/Then click Preview card to make sure all looks as it should. When I look at your card, I’m not seeing your old Twitter handle.
Give those steps a try and let me know your status. Many thanks!
