Why does Sharedaddy break some of my page redirections?
-
Some of my pages redirect to a category archive. When I activate the sharedaddy, it adds to the redirecting url a sequence (%20/share this/facebook print…. something similar) making the redirecting useless and creating not found errors. Can this be fixed?
THANKS!

Hi! Would you mind posting a link to one of the category archive pages where Sharedaddy doesn’t work for you?
That will help us take a look into some of the details. Thanks!

Ok, so if you click on
http://www.furgonana.com/la_furgo_nana/
it should redirect to: http://www.furgonana.com/category/mision/
but instead it takes you to:
http://www.furgonana.com/category/mision/%20%C2%A1Comp%C3%A1rtelo!:FacebookEmailwith it´s “nothing found” error 404
thanks!

Can you do a few things and answer a few questions to help us troubleshoot?
– How are the redirects happening (are you using a plugin, .htaccess, etc)?
– If you temporarily remove all other plugins (except Sharedaddy) and also temporarily use the 2010 theme, does the problem still occur?
– If you disable any other social sharing features (Facebook Like Box, etc) does the problem still occur?I would heartily recommend that you use the Jetpack plugin – it includes the features of the Sharedaddy plugin, but also has stats, the wp.me url shortener, hovercards, a widget to display your recent tweets, and a spell checker.
You can find the Jetpack plugin by searching for ‘Jetpack by WordPress.com’ on your plugins page, or by downloading it at the link below:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/jetpack/ -
– The redirects are happening because in the page attributes I configured it as redirect page (templates). (It is an option by default in wordpress)
– What you mean by the 2010 theme?
– If I deactivate all the plugins but JetPack the problem still happens.
I am using the jetpack plugin already.
Thanks.

I am going to deactivate the sharedaddy, because I don´t want this 404 errors to keep coming up, please let me know if you need me to activate it again.
Thanks -
What you mean by the 2010 theme?
Twenty Ten is the default theme included with all WordPress installations.
If you active that theme and disable all plugins but Jetpack, does the problem still happen?
-
well, it doesn´t happen because the page doesn´t redirect you to the other anymore.
With 2010 theme, the page can´t be set to redirect to another. -
That’s definitely the problem then. If the theme is using a redirection method that we can’t account for, well . . . we can’t account for it. ;)
It’s not actually a core WordPress redirection, or a feature of WordPress. It’s a new feature provided by the theme.
We’ll need to dig into some code to find out what’s going in here. Please contact us again via http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ and select a private request (if the option is available).
