Shares don't count?

  The share count on my blog appears to be not counting shares anymore. I know for a fact that I share each new post on Facebook soon after publishing it, and most of them show zero shares in the stats. There are a few posts that I have shared more than once, and they also show no shares. No new shares have been recorded in several months. How can that be fixed? And can the last several months’ shares be added to the stats in hindsight?
