Sharing 2 copies of each blog on FB & twitter

    Hi,

    I’m a complete blogging novice so would really welcome some advice! If set up my blog to automatically send each post to FB and twitter. For some reason it sends each post twice? I don’t want to irritate people by clogging up their news feeds with multiple copies of the same post?

    Any help very gratefully received!

    I took a look at this on your Facebook page and it looks like the first post is coming directly from WordPress and the second post is coming from Twitter. That makes me think you have your Twitter feed set up to copy your posts to Facebook, and probably your Facebook feed to copy your posts to Twitter.

    So what happens is WordPress posts directly to both feeds, and then Facebook copies the post to Twitter and Twitter copies it to Facebook.

    To keep this from happening (assuming you don’t want to change how you have Facebook and Twitter set up) change your publicize options to only post to Facebook OR Twitter.

    To do that, just go to settings>sharing on your dashboard and click the “x” next to the service you decide to disconnect.

    Let me know if you run into any problems and if the solution works!
