Sharing a pic on Facebook some text appears under the pic

Since few days, when I manually share to FB I have the link, the picture but under the picture I have 3-4 lines of something talking about Australia, probably I was looking a blog.If I manually share posts of few days ago everything is perfect. If I share with another blog I have everything is ok.The problem is that when I have the link on FB and after the pic,I cannot delete the words under the pic.
    Thanx for helping

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • I see when I try to share your posts to Facebook it does the same. Unfortunately WordPress cannot control what gets shared to Facebook. Facebook themselves determine what picture in the post gets used as thumbnail (not an issue as your posts only contain a single image) and how much text to include along with the picture, though I can’t for the life of me fathom where Facebook gets that text about the Australian Outback.

My only advice would be to try disconnecting Facebook from your blog, both from the sharing settings on your WP dashboard and by deleting the WordPress app under your Facebook settings, and then reconnect. Another option would be to include a short description with each picture. Hopefully the description will then take the place of the Australia text.

Thanx kokkieh.I tryed already to disconnect and reconnect but nothing…the Aus text is something I was reading on a blog of a follower but I don’t know why since few days it appears on the post I share on FB.I found another solution but,was better befor,I just load the image to FB and write a comment with the link but it is not automatic and need a couple of minutes.
    Thanx anyway

  • Unfortunately it’s a Facebook issue, not a WordPress one. Adding a short description under your pictures should resolve the problem – I checked your other blog and there when you share a post it’s your description which appears on Facebook underneath the picture.

What probably happened is that when Facebook didn’t find any text with your photo it traced the links on your blog in search of text. One of those links led to your follower’s blog (probably through his/her comment) and that’s how it found the text. If you provide text inside the post itself Facebook should use that instead.

By the way, those are some very cute dogs.

I tried all you suggested,I am sure it is FB but I cancelled apps, disconnected reconnect again…nothing. When it is connected or manually when it is disconnected, same Australian stuff.I added a line to the pic but no way.I have hundreds of posts with just the pic or just the name of the dog on the text and in 6 months nothing like this happened.Just since 2 days.I will keep on working on it :)

By the way,my dackels thanx you

Back again kokkieh,I opened a random blog from wordpress,I pushe the FB button to share on FB that page and something happende,a page of a blog never seen before with the same Australian stuff.
    grrrrrrrrr

  • Last thing I can think of is to clear your browser history and browser cache and delete all cookies. Maybe that will reset the connection between your blog and Facebook. It’s worth a try.
