Sharing a post embedded with youtube video on facebook showing the video clip (not thumbnail) in facebook wall. So people can click on that video and watch it there it self. This may not make a visit to the blog post. So the owner of youtube video will surely get a view count, but the blogger will not get any benefit. How can stop this? I could notice some newspaper posts shared on facebook wall do not have this video clip or thumbnail of video. Have to click on the link which will take to their site and watch the video. Is this not possible with WP Posts?

You can download the video, save it in your files. Then upload your video to the blog. However, this requires VideoPress.
From the Videos support page,If you want to upload and host your video files on your blog, you can do that with VideoPress, which is included with the WordPress.com Premium and WordPress.com Business plans.

My question is how can we stop the video clip appearing in shared wp post on fb? When a post with video is shared on fb, it should not show the video clip on fb wall, is it possible?

I don’t know what an “fb wall” is. Why is it worse that it should display on Facebook than a blog post?

it is not the question of displaying something on fb or wp. sharing post from wp to social network is for getting more visitors to wp. hope you are not understanding the question.

I’m a little confused now. Do you want the Youtube video to be able to play on Facebook without visiting your site? Or do you not want that to happen?
The Facebook link you gave me does not automatically play the Youtube video for me.

Thanks for the additional links! Unfortunately, this is based on how Facebook sees your post. When I share this post manually to my Facebook account, I see the same thing:

You could setup your sharing settings so that your WordPress shares to Twitter. And then set up Twitter to share to Facebook. I think this would trick the Facebook share into not displaying the video, but you’d have to test it out.

Thanks, that may workout. I think can try through feedburner also. FB is strange, some posts do not show video, some posts show photos not related to the post. Look like bugs. They are showing video with posts, because their aim is to get more share in their site.

tried that way also, but showing video thumbnail. it must be a fb problem. unable to remove thumbnail on some posts.

That’s true. Facebook will usually grab a Featured Image before any other feature-able content on the page. I would try that and see if it works for you. Thanks raincoaster!
If you’re updating one of your posts, rather than testing with new posts, make sure you force Facebook to update your post’s data by putting the URL of your post into the Facebook debugger:

Then select “Fetch new scrape information”.
