Sharing and Like buttons disappeared

    I have not posted for awhile and now find there are no share or like buttons at the end of my recent post.
    All the indications are that they have been enabled, plus I made sure the boxes were ticked and saved – still nothing. I tried following all the directions to reinstall them without success.
    What am I doing wrong?

    The sharing buttons are disabled for reblogged content (which is your latest post, which doesn’t have the buttons, but the others I saw do), because according to this here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/sharing-reblogs?replies=2#post-908096

    We designed it so that folks would be more encouraged to share the original post, not the reblogged post.

    So they are disabled so people can’t share the reblog, since wordpress want people to share the original post, since you didn’t create it yourself, but instead are just bringing it to the attention of your viewers/followers. I guess the likes are disabled for a similar reason.

    Yes. If you want Likes and social shares, you need to post original content.
