Sharing and Share buttons
-
Hi, I’ve been trying to add several share buttons to my wordpress.com hosted blog. I’ve followed the instructions on http://en.support.wordpress.com/sharing/. However, this tutorial does not seem to match what I see.
When I go to Available Services – Drag and drop the services you’d like to enable into the box below. There are no services available at all. When I click on Add a new service, all I get is:
Service name
Sharing URL
You can add the following variables to your service sharing URL:
%post_title%, %post_url%, %post_full_url%, %post_excerpt%, %post_full_url%, %post_tags%Icon URL
Enter the URL of a 16x16px icon you want to use for this service. Please tell me what I’m doing wrong.
My apologies if this is the wrong place to post.
Thanks in advance,
jcadiz
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There’s also a wealth of information on adding new services on this post by Ryan Markel: http://ryanmarkel.com/2010/08/31/adding-specific-sharing-services-to-sharedaddy-or-jetpack/

Is your blog http://thefuturewhen.wordpress.com ? I see all kinds of Sharing buttons in your “About” page.
If you are talking about another blog and still haven’t solved this issue, please read the troubleshooting section…

I just figured out my stupid mistake a few minutes ago. I had set my blog to private so, obviously the share buttons were not available.
As soon as I made the blog public my sharing options were reactivated. A very rookie mistake.
Sorry for wasting your time and thanks for the support!
