sharing buttons

Mine have disappeared from my page and posts (even older posts) and I go to sharing in menu and the page is blank when I click sharing. Where do I get my buttons if there is nothing showing to enable me to do so? Appreciate your help. thanks.

Hi there, looking at your site in Chrome, I see sharing buttons both at the bottom of your posts on your site’s front page, at the bottom of a single post as well as on at least your Audio Stories page. I didn’t check everything.
Can you share a link to a post/page where they have disappeared?
It might be a browser issue so make sure you are using an up-to-date browser, with javascript and 3rd party cookies enabled. Try logging out, clearing your browser cache and cookies, which will also log you out of any other website you are logged in to, and closing your browser entirely. Then open and log back in. Hello, I am still unable to see any on my own blog posts, though others tell me they can see them. I seem to not be able to like or comment on other WP blogs either. I have done as suggested and now I am at a loss. Would appreciate some help. Thanks.

Hi Jennifer, sorry to be an age I am an author and on tight deadlines. I have just had a new hard drive, wondering if that is a problem. It has Google Chrome installed and I am using it but it keeps saying I have not started it, but I have. I have W10 OS – the bane of my life :(
I can see the buttons on my phone when looking at my blog, but other WP blogs I visit are not showing me any buttons either. As I share a lot and have guest authors who want to share their blog articles from my page it is a pain as they expected me to do it for them and for them to be able to reply to visitors and comments. I don’t get an error message, there is nothing there, no buttons. When I go into my dashboard and go down to sharing to see if I can add buttons back the page loads and is blank and a blue ? is there but it tells me to add buttons etc…head-banging time I think. Any help much appreciated. Thanks. -

I’m also using Win10 with Chrome v72 and can see those sharing buttons, so I’m thinking it’s either a browser setting (can you try looking with a different browser like FireFox or Edge) or a browser extension (can you disable your browser extensions, if you have any, or look with an incognito/private window) or an anti-virus program or ad-blocker that is causing this issue.

Hi Jennifer, thanks for your patience with me. I tried opening in internet explorer and I can see all the buttons but my Facebook and Twitter links on my blog roll have gone. Instagram and GoodReads are still there. The buttons show under my blog post but I can only use Twitter to share. Facebook does not work and neither does reblog. But, the page displays as part of the page with view site showing on the right and the left-hand shows the dashboard. If I try to view full site then it reverts back to the view I get with Chrome – no buttons etc. My hard drive was replaced Saturday with new security installed, and since then this has happened. My engineer suggested chrome and I have always used it anyway. I have not used Internet Explorer or Edge before. He thinks Chrome is more secure and faster. If you can help me that is wonderful. If not, I shall take the computer back to him to look at. I am considering upgrading my blog – paying – soon as I am limited with space now and I wonder if I did this, would the problem still persist? Might this be a solution? Thanks so much, it is a nightmare when computer knowledge is so limited.

Hello again, Upgrading your site to a plan will not affect whether or not you see your site’s buttons, twitter etc.

This is probably a good indication that whatever security program was installed is blocking those buttons (and those other things) and you’ll need to whitelist WordPress.com in that program. It’s not really something that we can troubleshoot further from this side. When you talk to your engineer, point him to the browser troubleshooting support guide I linked to earlier.
