Sharing Buttons Don't Display

I have tried to figure this out on my own and looked at the posts by others and I just can’t seem to find a way to make it work. I have enabled multiple share buttons and set them to display on every page, but they aren’t showing up anywhere.
I saw other people say that you have to go into each post/page and set it to show the sharing buttons, but I can’t even figure out how to do that. There is no menu/option, etc to change the functions on my individual pages. This is for a class I am currently taking and I am thoroughly frustrated with the process of trying to get the share buttons to display.

The sharing buttons are currently enabled only for when someone views a single post or page on your blog. You’ll see them if you click through to the post itself.
If you want them to appear on your blog’s main page as well, you can change this setting using the drop-down near the bottom of the Sharing Settings page at Settings > Sharing.

There is no sharing option available to me under the settings menu. Is that only on the paid versions? Also, I have been through each of the individual pages on my blog and website and don’t see the sharing buttons anywhere. I see the “Follow Blog” and “Goodreads” widgets, but no Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc options for sharing.
In the Sharing Menu, these buttons are set to show up on all of my pages, but I am not seeing them on any. What am I doing wrong?

The social links you are referring to are if I want them to be able to follow my Facebook account or Twitter feed. Those are not the social buttons I’m referring to. I am looking for the buttons that allow the visitor to share information via Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, or to print or e-mail the information on the page. That is not something that comes up as an option in the social menu so far as I can see.

I assume you’ve tried “My Sites” “Sharing” “Sharing Buttons” and scrolled down to “Edit Sharing Buttons”

I can’t even figure out how to access the post settings you’re referring to here. I’ve tried looking online and everything tells me to set up my information from the “sharing” options section, which I’ve done, but nothing shows up anywhere on my pages. I have no idea how you got to that post settings menu you show in your screenshot. It looks like it should be where I am writing up my post for say, a blog since it asks about a featured image. The next option after “Featured Image” on my document editor page is “Excerpt”. I have no “Sharing” option available like you show in the picture. I can’t find any way to add these buttons that doesn’t tell me I need a plugin that I can’t use because I have a free WordPress account and not a paid one.

I contacted WordPress help and found out that the reason the sharing buttons weren’t showing up is that I was working with the new editor they just put on the site (not my choice; it sent me there by default). Once I changed it back, I was able to access the sharing options and turn them on for my posts/pages. I find the former editor much more user-friendly than the new one, so I won’t be switching it back.

Ah yes, the new editor! I’m sorry I didn’t think to ask you which editor you were working with, the new version is quite different.
