sharing link with others not working
-
I am using wordpress for a school project. I want to share the link to my blog however, it just says coming soon. WordPress is asking me to create a domain. I thought wordpress could be used for free and a domain isn’t necessary. I’m not sure how to fix the issue but my classmates/prof. can’t see what I’ve created. I have published the post/pages.
Any ideas? Do I have to launch the site and create an actual domain?

Hi there,
You would want to launch the site to make it public.
- You can launch the site by going to My Site >> Settings >> General.
Click on the Launch Site button.
On Choose a domain page, click on Skip Purchase.
On Choose a plan page, click on Start with a free site.

Thank you,
it’s still telling them they need the login information to see my site. Is there something else I need to click so it’s live and everyone can view it?

Hi there,
After launching your website, go back to the same setting make sure it is set as “Public” instead of “Private”.

Hi there,
Are you speaking of the post titled, Thinking About My Grounded Theory Project?
You’ve published that as a private post, so only site admins can see that post. This is completely independent of the privacy settings of the site itself.
To make that post visible, go to My Site ->Posts and edit it. Click on the post status in the right sidebar, and change the post status to Published, then update.
