Sharing option

    Hi,
    My ‘share this’ buttons are not showing up on my blog. It does appear when I’m editing the page but not on the blog. I also don’t have the option of use likes(facebook), pins(pintrest), or retweets(twitter) in my sharing buttons tab in my dash. Adding the like and follow widget from wordpress on my sidebar isn’t showing up too.

    I have tried changing themes to see if it was the themes not allowing those to show up but, all the themes does show these items when editing, just not when on the actual blog.

    Howdy mylee!

    It’s possible that sharing hasn’t been enabled in your site’s settings. To do this, go to https://wordpress.com/sharing/ → Sharing Buttons and make sure to select the specifics places you would like the sharing buttons to be shown. Here you can also edit the buttons shown. To use the official buttons (such as likes, pins, etc.) click on Official Buttons under the Button Style section.

    Hi
    I think I found the problem. I’m looking at my site through the latest Chrome web browser which does not display any of the sharing options. When I use an older version or IE then the buttons show up.
    Why is it not appearing using the latest version of chrome?

    So we may test this, which page specifically is this occurring on? Could you provide us a link so we can test on our end?

    It’s possible there’s an incompatibility with the latest version. This could be due to changes in Chrome that don’t comply with WordPress.

    Also, when you go to edit the page, you should see a “sharing” section at the left side. The “Show Sharing Button” box should be checked, could you confirm this for us?

    I am currently using Version 56.0.2924.87 of chrome. The buttons are not showing up on any of my posts or homepage.

    When I edit, much like my original question, the “Sharing Buttons” was empty. I was only able to see it in a different browser. The “Show Sharing Button” box is checked, I have it standardize to show on all post.

    Also the subscribe by email and follow by wordpress on my sidebar is not seen either when in this version of chrome, but shows up other web browsers.

    Hi, mylee98,

    when I visit https://babysfirstmonth.wordpress.com/ I do see the sharing buttons.

    I have version 56.0.2924.87 of chrome, too.

    Were you able to resolve this on your own?

    Have you tried clearing your chrome cache? That could be affecting it. To do this follow these steps:

    1. Open Chrome.
    2. On your browser toolbar, click More More.
    3. Point to More tools, and then click Clear browsing data.
    4. In the “Clear browsing data” box, click the checkboxes for Cookies and other site and plug-in data and Cached images and files.
    5. Use the menu at the top to select the amount of data that you want to delete. Choose beginning of time to delete everything.
    6. Click Clear browsing data.

    Note: Clearing the cache will remove usernames and passwords saved at sites so you’ll have to re-enter them. For more information, please see https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/32050?hl=en.
