Sharing posts on Twitter
-
Using the Twitter widget, posts are promoted in the form of Post Title + link. Is it possible to post the blogpost’s text (up to character limit) as well as the title?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Twitter widget? Don’t you mean publicize? The Twitter widget merely displays tweets from your Twitter timeline. Publicize is what auto-posts your new posts on Twitter.
Here’s how to change what is included with the link when auto-posting via Publicize: When you’re writing a new post, before you publish it, save the draft. Then, in the Publish module, look for where it says Publicize and lists all the accounts you have connected. Click on Edit. This will open a text box where you can edit the description that is shared. For Twitter specifically, the description will have to stick to the 140 character limit.
If you’re speaking of the Twitter sharing button at the bottom of posts, there it’s up to the person sharing if they want to edit it. We have no control over that, I’m afraid.

Thanks Kokkieh. Yes, I meant publicize – I used the term widget in a generic sense, not very clear of me! Your solution solves the problem, so thank you very much. I did wonder if there was an automated way of doing it though.

Hi there. There’s no automated way of doing this, no. If left to itself Publicize will only use the post title and shortlink. Anything else you have to add manually every time.
Glad I could help :)
