Sharing problems

  Happy people, how are you? Could you please help me solve this problem? I dont understand what is happening with the last entry in my blog. When I try to share it on facebook there isn’t any image or abstract of it. Only my website address.

  I really hope you could help me soon, since people is not sharing because of that.

  Hi Adolfo. As I mentioned via email I’ve forwarded this to the wordpress.com team.

  I’ve also done some testing myself on the facebook url linter and you can see some errors that will need fixing:

  I clicked the “Fetch new scrape information” button in the Facebook debugger and that seems to have fixed the problem.

  Oh, Kathryn!!! Thank you so much!!!! Yes! It is fixed now!! Do you know what could have caused the problem? It has never happened before.

  I don’t know what caused it, but I’ve seen many intermittent Facebook glitches like this from time-to-time; the problem seems to be something at their end.

  If it ever happens again, put the URL of the post into the Facebook debugger and click the “”Fetch new scrape information” button. 99% of the time it solves the Facebook hiccup.

  Hi again, dear Kathryn. I have a new problem I was hoping you could help me with. When I published my new post in my blog the featured image had an error (a black square). I already fixed the image but the wrong one keeps coming up every time anyone share the post on Facebook. Could you please help me with this? Thank you so much.

  I don’t see a black square when sharing on Facebook:

  

  And the debugger shows the same image:

  

  When you saw the black square initially, did you try running the URL through the Facebook debugger and clicking the “Scrape again” button? Thats’ the first thing you should do if this ever happens again.
