Sharing to facebook

How can I control what is posted to Facebook when I post is shared? I don’t want to have the first part of the post and the title to be displayed. How can I set it up so that it just says something like “Checkout my new blog post”?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Post manually top the social networking sites rather than auto-posting. Despite the ubiquitous statements to the opposite effect, autoposting, rather than manual posting results in fewer people reading your full posts on your site. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2014/09/10/social-networking-blunders/

    Hi @iamdatdude,

If this is a critical feature for you, another option would be to use the self hosted version of WordPress, found here https://wordpress.org/download/ .

You would then have the option of using one of several plugins that could help you with this, although not out of the box.

Of course along with further customizability comes the task of having to host the site yourself.

Posting unique snippets manually to all social networks and only to those social networks that make sense given the nature of the content makes sense. Auto-posting the same snippets and link across social networks is a senseless opportunistic act that can turn off followers. Why? Due to the convenience of auto-posting apps we are drowning in a sea of duplicated content and the more intelligent among us are now becoming adverse to clicking the links, and will unfollow those who are doing the auto-postiung across platforms.
