Shift from .wordpress.com to.com
-
Hey I have a blog that’s pretty active on wordpress.com domain and I want to shift the same blog to .com domain soon. Is that possible without losing the traffic, the posts and keeping every other thing same?

Hey @swetlanadutta,
In that case, you will have to upgrade to one of the paid plans to create your custom domain name.
WordPress.com offer a number of plans which you can find at the link below:

Cheers ; )

Hi there,
If you change to a custom domain, you might see a temporary drop in traffic from search engines, as those will have to re-index your site at the new address first. But within a few weeks that should return to normal.
Otherwise your site won’t be affected in any way – all that will happen is that your posts will show the new domain in the browser instead of the free WordPress.com address, and if someone clicks on an existing link to the free address that has been shared online, we’ll automatically redirect them to your new domain.
