shipping rate calculation

  I am testing my WordPress site to make sure it is set up properly before going live. I have weights assigned to specific products and using the USPS plugin I get the correct postage for shipping one of the items by first class mail. However, if I double the quantity, the plugin doubles the cost, even though the weight is still in the weight range for first class. The same goes for 3 items, it triples the postage, etc. Is there a way I can set the weight range per USPS requirements to have the correct postage applied?
