Shopify Embedding

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi there,

I have a business account and a shopify account, WordPress gives me a page that asks me to create a widget style and then save the settings. I have saved my settings but I cannot see that widget anywhere or how to get the widget onto my pages. Also when I generate a widget code through shopify and paste it onto the page it only comes up with text, how do I edit my page in HTML mode?

    Lauren

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Does what’s in the relevant support doc at this link help? http://en.support.wordpress.com/ecommerce/

No, its a bit more complicated than that! I’ve already set up my shopify accounts, I need help with embedding widgets. But thanks anyway!

    Hello there,

I wanted to confirm that you were following these instructions for including Shopify products on your site:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/shopify/#embedding-shopify-products-in-your-site

If so, during what step in the process are you getting stuck, or seeing errors?

Also, as you have the Business upgrade, you do have access to Live Chat assistance 7am-7pm Eastern time. You should see a pop-up chat window in your site’s Dashboard. You can initiate a chat with that tool. While I am more than happy to assist you, you may find the immediate one-on-one help even more effective.

Whatever you decide, I’m here for you! All the best :)

    Hello there!

When you set up a plan with Shopify, there are different pay structures, according to your needs:

Depending on what you require from your e-Commerce setup, Ecwid also has some free offerings, according to the amount of products you setup, I believe:

I hope this helps! If you have any other concerns, drop me a note. Thanks much!

    Hello thatrobyn,

Thanks for coming forward and responding to me.

You mean – on top of WordPress business account (USD 299 per year), one needs to buy a Shopify estore plan? That would be pricey option.

Pls go thru the comment mentioned by “Ben Huberman” as a response to a comment on the following blog at WordPress:

WordPress.com Business Users: Ecommerce has Arrived!

He has written the following: “Yes! The ecommerce plugins are now an integral part of the WordPress.com Business upgrade,

with no additional charge to use them

    .”

I would like to know the truth/fact before I go ahead with WordPress Business plan.

    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Hey there!

I see the confusion. What Ben was saying is that the plugin itself is free. We don’t charge anything for it and that technology is included with the Business upgrade.

However, Shopify is an independent entity and they do charge a fee for their services.

I’ll make sure that comment gets clarified for the future!

    Thanks much.

    Thanks for your response.

So, USD 299/yr + another USD 360/yr to buy basic Shopify store and then make it work with WordPress; with all the other issues of who to go if I face integration problems.

It seems WordPress is going for fast-money, trying to lure customers to Business Upgrade and then pass on support issues to Shopify.

I wonder who is going to sign-up for this combo and not go through post-purchase regret; at-least I am not going to!

    Hey again,

So, USD 299/yr + another USD 360/yr to buy basic Shopify store and then make it work with WordPress; with all the other issues of who to go if I face integration problems.

Just so you’re aware, the Shopify charge is not ours. We are totally separate businesses. We are offering the platform to build and e-commerce website, and they’re providing the actual store application.

With the Business upgrade at WordPress.com, you get Live Chat Support, access to our Premium Themes, Advanced Customization, Unlimited Space, No Ads, and the other features included in the Premium Upgrade as well.

Also, don’t forget you could opt for Ecwid, which has a different pricing structure, and could even be used for free:

It seems WordPress is going for fast-money, trying to lure customers to Business Upgrade and then pass on support issues to Shopify.

WordPress.com supports your website. Shopify supports your shopping cart. We’d each support what we specialize. We’re pretty passionate about providing customer support.

Sorry to hear you’re not happy with the Business plan, but if I can’t help answer any other questions, don’t hesitate to drop me a line. Thanks much!
