Shopping cart

I see on https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/adding-a-paypal-shopping-cart-to-wordpress-site?replies=5 that a shopping cart can’t be added to a blog. Yet when reading https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-easycart it reads that you can add a shopping cart to a blog or website. At least that’s the way it reads to me. In order to add a shopping cart that offers payment options using a credit/debit card and paypal do I have to use WordPress.org, WordPress.org with a hosting company or can I simply use it on my current blog? Thanks very much for your help.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
In spite of the similarity in name, WordPress.COM is very different from WordPress.ORG.
For a comprehensive list of all the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, please click here.
In a nutshell, WordPress.com is stream-lined, simple, and hosts your website for you in a no-nonsense way.
In their own words, WordPress.COM lets you “focus on your beautiful content, and let us handle the rest.” It provides your URL, your hosting, security, and pretty much everything you need to get your blog or website up and running within minutes!
Meanwhile, WordPress.ORG is all about getting your “hands dirty” and is a bit more complicated–you host your website yourself, provide security and back-ups, and utilize codes and plug-ins to build your own website. You can find plug-ins through WordPress.org, but you will have to find your own web builder, host, etc.
Unfortunately, for the time being, it appears that e-commerce options on WordPress are not available; while users had the option in the past, there were some issues with some of the plug-ins, and WordPress took them down as to continue working on them so that they will be up to their impeccable standards.
Per a WordPress.com staff member at this thread, this will likely not be a permanent issue, but there is no current time-table for when e-commerce options will become available.
For the time being, if you want to utilize an e-commerce function, you’ll have to use WordPress.org, not WordPress.com.
I hope that answers your question! Have a wonderful day.

Edit for clarity’s sake:
“Unfortunately, for the time being, it appears that e-commerce options on WordPress.com are not available”.
Sorry, realized the lack of the .com made that unclear. =) Fixed!

Hi there
You seems to be confused a bit. The first link you gave is of WordPress.com which is a wordpress hosting service where the second link of wp-easycart is a wordpress.org link which is self hosted. You need to know the difference between two. For sure you can shopping cart to wordpress.org website but unfortunately not on wordpress.com -

Hi again, allyouwillneed.
I’m not sure if you meant both of our responses came across as rude, but if mine did, I do apologize!
I, too, confused the .Com and .Org WordPress initially; it is such a small word for such a big difference! Hopefully WordPress.com will soon perfect their e-commerce options and make them available,, as many people would like to use that feature. To reiterate, if I came off in any way rude, I am truly sorry–I just wanted to clear up the difference between the two WordPresses like someone did for me. =)
Sincerely,
-Sarah
