Shopping Cart or Commerce.

Hello and good day. I have noticed that you removed the e-commerce feature from WordPress.com. Is this something that will return soon? Thank you :)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, according to this Staff answer, there is currently no timeline concerning the return of e-commerce (which is only available as part of the Business bundle): https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/e-commerce-22?replies=17#post-2575955

Thank you. If we get the Business class now will we have e-commerce solution. I have a client that wants to sell Jewelry and was looking for the simplest solution. Any suggestions? Thank you :)

@deyson – I’m sorry if I wasn’t clear. There is no ecommerce solution available for the Business bundle upgrade at this time.
timethief, another forum volunteer, has covered the current options here, and these will work regardless of any upgrade: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/woocommerce-php-change-has-resulted-in-product-photo-disaster?replies=6#post-2591227

It is something that will likely return at some point. But I do not have a timeline for when that would occur.

Thank you for the Rapid reply, Jennifer & Josh! :)
Ok. Great! So I can use other services based on the link I had seen. May I use Memberful.com, Gumroad.com and Shopify.com embed code feature?
If not, they do have an link to redirect customers to that service’s payment page, similar to how the Paypal workaround works?
Thank you for all your hard work and have an amazing day! :)

I’m not sure what code is involved, but WordPressdotcom does have code restrictions in place, so using javascript is out. Here’s more on that https://en.support.wordpress.com/code/ Most likely you won’t be able to use embed codes from those sites here, only a text link to your shop on those sites. Also, you mentioned jewelry, so links to shops set up on Artfire and/or Etsy are possible.
The PayPal donation button, however, can be used here. More on that: https://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/
All in all, if such payment utilities are a “make or break” deal, then you’ll want to set up your client’s site on a standalone WP install. You can read this Support doc to learn more about the differences between WPdotcom and standalone WP: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Thank you Jennifer. I had wanted to recommend WordPress because I have used it for so long and love it. I use wordpress.org, but I had thought wordpress.com would be more user friendly.
Also I will check out Art fire & Etsy and see what options we have there.
Thank you and have and have an amazing day!
