Shoreditch: featured posts
-
I’m making a new site and will probably use the Shoreditch theme which I like a lot. Everything is working well, but I have a two questions on how featured posts are showing on the “slider” on the homepage.
1) is there a maximum number of featured posts that can be shown?
2) the featured posts slider is not “sliding” – ie I have to click on the little dot beneath it so swap from one featured post to the other. Is this the expected behaviour?Regards, /Johan

Hi Johan,
1) is there a maximum number of featured posts that can be shown?
The support page on this theme doesn’t give a limit, but looking at the code it looks like it has a maximum of 6.
2) the featured posts slider is not “sliding” – ie I have to click on the little dot beneath it so swap from one featured post to the other. Is this the expected behaviour?
That is expected, yes, as it’s a slider, rather than a slideshow. It’s not possible to convert the slider into an automatic slideshow, as that would require adding JavaScript to the theme which we don’t allow on WordPress.com.
On our Business Plan you would be able to do something like that using a slideshow plugin, though, or if you were feeling ambitious, by creating a child theme where you can add the required code to the theme.
