Shoreditch theme mobile and desktop versions
-
Hi! I was trying to improve my site by moving buttons which I did as well as removing white space, adding a back to home button and relevant word tags. Under the Settings option in Manage section I added a Site Title and a Site Tagline which looks great on the desktop version, but is clearly too large for the mobile version. I am also having real problems changing the size of the font on the mobile vs. the desktop version.
Can anyone help who has experienced something similar and/or knows how to customize so that I can make independent changes to my Shoreditch theme desktop and mobile versions without one affecting the other? The website that I need help with is solvagroup.co
I would really appreciate any help, thank you.

Hi Nakazzi,
If you decide to upgrade the site, you could use some advanced CSS to control the layout depending on the screen size. Because layout changes get tricky, it’s out of the scope of our support, but we could point you in the right direction.
To be honest though, with the long name, I wouldn’t change a thing unless you just want to hide the title and show only the logo on mobile. And that’s fairly simple, so if you want that and decide to upgrade, let us know.

Hi Supernovia,
I think as you suggested, hiding the title and only showing the logo on the mobile is best.
If this is the case, would I still have to upgrade, as I am trying to keep costs to a minimum?
Thanks.

Hi there,
Your theme does not have a way to set “mobile only” design changes, so the only way to change the appearance of the mobile view of your site (without changing the desktop view) will require upgrading to our Premium plan and adding CSS to make the change.
There is not really a workaround that can be used on your free site.
If I can ask, is there a specific reason you have made your site title so long? “Solva Group | Agile Management Consulting | Niagara On The Lake” is quite lengthy (compared to most sites I’ve seen) so I am wondering are you including your location in the site title for SEO reasons?
If so, it is worth mentioning that you can hide the site title (so it does not show for visitors) and search engines will still be able to “see” it. This would allow you to clean up the appearance of your site, while still adding SEO text that search engines can use to rank your site.
Also I think your site would look quite smart (desktop and mobile both) if only the logo was shown. Here is a preview of what that would look like:

Hi jerrysarcastic,
Yes, you are absolutely correct I was given advice to include a tag title and tagline in order to improve my SEO. How do I hide the site title and tagline, but still adding SEO text that search engines can use to rank my site?
Yes, I agree my site would look cleaner in appearance if only the logo was shown on both desktop and mobile both.
Thanks.

Go to My Site ->Design ->Customize ->Site Identity.
You can set the title and tagline there, and then uncheck the box right below it which will prevent those from appearing on the site. But they’ll be set so will still appear in your site’s HTML headers where search engines will look for those.
