Shortcode for LinkedIn
-
We have a short code for Twitter already, which I use quite regularly.
However, LinkedIn is fast becoming the most active social media platform for our business, so I would also like the ability to include LinkedIn posts in the same way as I can include Twitter posts.
So please can we have something very similar?
i.e. today, we have:-

Hi there,
This is not possible as LinkedIn made some changes to their API back in 2020 preventing the embed of LinkedIn content on third-party websites.

That’s a bit weird given that they have an “Embed this post” menu option which generates some iframe HTML. Isn’t that just the same as twitter?
https://www.linkedin.com/embed/feed/update/urn:li:share:6905550682158690304Given that WordPress actively stops me from putting this code in my blog post, surely a shortcode that generates this same iframe code would be the appropriate thing to do. Why do we need a LinkedIn API to do that?
Alternatively, let us put the embed code in ourselves and stop actively removing it.
Cheers,

Hmmph, the editor changed the ‘code’ I pasted even though I enclosed it in code tags, trying again (since no way to edit previous response).
< iframe src="https://www.linkedin.com/embed/feed/update/urn:li:share:6905550682158690304" height="394" width="504" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="" title="Embedded post">< / iframe > -
The code you can use on the wordpress.com platform is very limited. That’s why you can’t use that code over here.
You find all info at https://wordpress.com/support/code/
