Shortcode page for Google Docs needs updating
-
Was trying to use the Google Docs info page and it no longer applies. Google Docs doesn’t supply an embed code anymore. I was able to copy some of your old code from the images in the post and get it to work but others might not figure that out. Just an FYI
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi.
Are you following these instructions to embed the doc? https://en.support.wordpress.com/google-docs/ -
Yes. I could embed a doc, but not using the directions given in the article you referenced.
It doesn’t appear that Google Docs or Google Drive give you an option to embed.
So, just thought the page needed updated.

I meant that Google doesn’t give you the embed code for the iframe anymore. It can still be done but not by someone who isn’t familiar with coding like this.

Ok, I tagged this thread with modlook for staff assistance.
Be patient while waiting. :) -
Hi there,
I just checked a Google Doc in my own account, and was able to follow those steps exactly to get the embed code.
Can you please take a screen shot for me of the options you see? You can upload them to your media library and let me know once you’ve done that, then I can take a look.

Okay, sorry for the confusion.
I was trying to embed a PDF file from my Google Drive. And in preview mode, there isn’t an option to embed.
I uploaded the screenshot to the media library for pcselfieteam.wordpress.com

Here at WordPress.com your only PDF options are:
Scribd, Google docs or Issuu

I took another look at this, and it appears Google moved the Open in new window button into the menu where it was in the top bar before, so that has changed. The process remains the same, though.
I’ll update the doc with the new location of that button. Thanks for letting us know about it.
