Shortcodes not pulling
-
Used this shortcode in a page:
[display-posts category="Press" posts_per_page="-1" include_date="true" order="ASC" orderby="title"]
It won’t pull – it’s actually just showing that instead of doing anything. Any ideas? It’s not for the blog below, it’s for a customer’s site that’s due tomorrow night!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If I put that in a page or post on my site nothing would display because I have no posts with the category “Press.” I presume you do. But then again, maybe you don’t.
Are you referring to the website http://decor8rgirl.com? If so, then the URL http://decor8rgirl.com/category/press/ should give us an archive page of posts with the category “press” assigned. Instead the page does not exist, indicating that you have no posts with the category “press” assigned. If you assigned tags instead of categories then substitute “tag” for “category” in the code, as follows”
[display-posts tag="Press" posts_per_page="-1" include_date="true" order="ASC" orderby="title"]
Second, it may be case sensitive. Try “Press” and “press.”

So not for decor8rgirl.com.
Press and press are the same in categories and tags.
@decor8rgirlco – There is a minus sign before the “1” in your shortcode. Try it without. Also, not a good idea to copy and paste the short code directly from the support docs. Known to lead to a disturbance in the force.

http://decor8rgirl.com/ is also a WordPress.org site. Our shortcodes do not necessarily work on those.
-
I’m actually using that precise code in a test page with the exception of the category identity. The value “-1” displays the same archive list as the value “20,” which happens to be a little more than all of my posts.
@raincoaster,
She’s referring to a different website. Unidentified so far. -
Yes, just alerting you to the likelihood that the site she’s talking about is also WP.org.
-
-
I believe the value “-1” means “all,” as long as the number of posts is 100 or fewer. If, that is, the present limit given at the Display Posts Shortcode support page is accurate.
The Display Posts Shortcode has a limit of 100 posts displayed.
