Shortcodes not working in WordPress desktop app?

    Hi,

I’m having a bunch of problems trying to get shortcodes to work with YouTube videos using the WordPress.com app on Windows 10. I’m adding shortcodes with the following syntax on it’s own line:

    [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12345&rel=0 ]

    YouTube link obviously edited.

Here’s what the HTML ends up looking like to show that there aren’t any spaces before the shortcode:

    <p style="text-align: center;">[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-12345&rel=0 ]</p>

I’ve tried it with aligned left as well with no luck. When I publish, the site doesn’t embed the video, but rather just show the text:

    [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12345&rel=0 ]

right in the blog. The only way I’ve been able to get it to work is to delete everything while editing within a browser, republish, and then recreate it all again in a browser (and even then I sometimes have to do that 4 or 5 times before it suddenly starts working). It never seems to work from the desktop app. Is this a known problem? Are there more tricks other than being on it’s own line and not having spaces before the shortcode? Pics are fine, just YouTube videos that I’m trying to embed with related videos turned off that don’t work.

    Thanks!
