Shortlink

  In the old format, there was a shortlink facility. When I prepared a draft for later release, the shortlink worked after publication.

  I cannot find anything like this in the new format. The link for the draft doesn’t work for the final version, and this is very inconvenient.

  I’d be grateful with help for a workaround.

  Hello Bob,

  I believe the shortlink can be found within the Sharing module once you save a post as a Draft. I have not tested it to see if it works for the final version.

  As @daschultemn said, you can indeed find the shortlink (“Get Shortlink”) from the Sharing section on the left hand side, after you have saved a draft.

  Think link will still point to the final post once you have published it. I just checked.
