Shortlink is now missing.

On our blogs has been a short link we could copy instead of address bar link but since new updated left side bar (All my sites???), it’s now gone.
Only have one site, but this is where the shortlink was.
Looked at all things to see if it would come up but no luck.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

And strangely nobody among WP has responded which is unusual unless it’s a glitch they didn’t know disappeared. But still somebody answers something. Hopefully soon somebody will.

in Chrome 40 on my PC, looking at the front page of my site and on individual posts, the shortlink appears towards the bottom of that very long drop down list from the “My Sites” in the Admin bar, just above the theme being used and the link to report content.
If you don’t see that in your drop down list, make sure you are using an up-to-date browser (http://browsehappy.com/) and that Flash is updated. If you are and it still does not appear in your drop down list, please post back here.

Not at all. It really depends on availability of forum volunteers and Staff and weekends/holidays tend to be less populated.

I use Firefox & Opera, (both up to date and flash up to date) I’m not about to download another browser so wordpress can work right.
Shortlink isn’t there with either browser, not only that I just discovered from switching from Opera to FF that my YT video’s are absent. They are there in edit but not showing or playing when posted. Guess I’ll start new topic for this.
What is going on?

So maybe there is something else at work here. If javascript is enabled in your browsers, try disabling your browser plugins and then enabling them again one by one. Other browser troubleshooting suggestions can be found here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/

All I know is prior to the change of whole left side administrative side the shortlink on Opera was there. WP made that change and shortlink is missing. Not a browser problem.

Hi there,
I checked your site at https://longshotsblues.wordpress.com/ and I see the shortlink there. You can hover over My Sites in the top left and find the shortlink near the bottom of the dropdown menu there. (You can also find the shortlink for individual posts in the post editor.)
If you’re not seeing that shortlink, can you please make a screenshot of what you see in the My Sites dropdown menu? You can upload screenshots to your Media Library under Media > Add New in your dashboard, or you can use an online service like Snaggy.
That will help me understand what you’re seeing on your end.

Well on main page it is visible at the very bottom, BUT when you go in an individual post it is buried. Only a thin line but not enough where you can see or copy it.
Now that is one thing I’ve never been able to do or learn for what ever reason is take a snapshot of page. I just do not know how to do it.
The shortlink needs to be raised on single post, it use to be at TOP. Why can’t they just place it where it was all this time.
I know you can get it from post editor but that is a pain when all along you could just get it easily where it was. I can look at how to take a screen shot all day long, just can’t do it. Again, they need to raise it up on single posts because as of right now it is too low, I mean buried.

OK I went to paint and did manage to paste the snap shot and save in as instructed. Now in the comment there isn’t a button to upload pictures???

Like I said on posts it’s out of view, needs to be raised.

I checked your media library but wasn’t able to find the screenshot you made. Can you please go to Media > Add New in your dashboard and try uploading it again there?
Alternately, you can use Snaggy to share that screenshot.
That will help me understand the thin line you’re seeing for the shortlink there. Thanks!

Simple and plain, I do not know how to do this.
I’ve already explained. On main page shortlink completely visible, but on an individual post it is 99.9% buried too low. You just see the very top (a thin white line) and that’s it.
It needs to be raised. It is too much to ask that WP put it back at the top where it use to be? Sometimes this forever changing things is infuriating.

Rachel is out for a few days so I am taking over a few of her tickets.
I just did some testing by setting my chrome browser to the same dimensions as the one which you used to write in, and I can see what you mean about not being able to see the shortlink.
I’m not sure what kind of device you’re using, but if you can expand your browser window down a bit further, or even zoom out a bit (use Ctrl and the plus/minus button to zoom in and out), then you should be able to see the entire menu.
