Shortlinks mishaps
-
I read many a forum post by now and the latest that addressed this issue has been a month ago Jun 3rd and was still unanswered.
The question really is why WP had decided to remove the automatic sharing of shortlinks with twitter, for example. You started showing the entire link for some reason and made sure pictures also get uploaded to Twitter. After all it is up to me if I want to upload a picture elsewhere.
Such an adjustment should have had either a word of advice in advance, a notice if you will or never happen.
Is this an issue that is likely to be addressed as a small programming error or will you do nothing about it. This I am asking due to the reason whether to keep my automatic share on twitter on or not. At this moment it is of no use to me and an amount of extra work to log into twitter and than share the links after.
Now if this is a mistake on the side of Twitter it is still up to WP to come to an solution when in conversation with Twitter. This to protect your users.
Best Regards and awaiting your answer. If willing to give one.

Fair enough There was that but not the issue at hand.
The post is being shared just instead of a short link the full link is used. Taking up character space. Second The connection WP has with Twitter has Twitter also upload the pictures on my account. There is no need for that.
Since this is a combine effort between Twitter and Wp something should well be looked at. This is been going on for some time now.
I thank you for taking the time to come up with an answer and hope more information will come forward.

Hi there,
When you use Publicize to share to Twitter, it now sends a full link to your post — Twitter counts that full link as the same number of characters as the shortlink, so it doesn’t take up any additional characters. The addition of images to your tweets is another new Publicize feature, and it’s an intentional change.
If you’d prefer more control over exactly what is shared, I’d recommend removing the Twitter connection from your Sharing settings and manually sharing your posts to Twitter, instead. :)

Thank you for the answer. and no thanks for thinking for us.
I think a notice would have been nice in this case. Specially when it comes to taking over control about what is shared.
In my honest opinion it is always our decision what we share and you with out word took that from us.As for sharing manually it is again as with many things adding more time consuming operations.
Just as I thought though it is no use, using the connections anymore this way.
Again thank you for the information, and answer though I do not like the way your path was taken I will except it as such.
