Should client always use screen name when responding to comment.

    Curious-recently made a comment on someones blog which seemed to irk them and when they replied instead of using my screen name took my full name from my e-mail address and used that,is this usual?Doesn’t really bother me but could upset some people especially if they wanted to remain anonymous.

    Yes it could upset someone who wished to blog under a pseudonym and I caution every one of my clients to use only the username provided in the comment and never to take any liberties like what you describe. To prevent this happening I also advise clients to use a unique email address for each blog that does not contain one’s actual name.
