Should I be starting with a different theme?

    Hello. I’m completely new to blogging and have been on wordpress.com only for like a week. I’ve been trying to find out more info about what the best themes are and my searches keep showing regular wordpress stuff, not wordpress.com. So I’m hoping some more experienced bloggers can let me know if I’m starting off ok.

    So I am currently using the shawburn theme and I am happy with how everything looks. But now I’ve seen the Dara theme and that appears to be very similar with more features. Being so new I don’t really know what all options I am eventually going to need. Am I best switching to a different theme now, before I get in too deep? Or will it be easy to switch to something else later if I decide I need a better theme? I’m used to ecommerce sites where it can be a lot of work to make changes, so I want to try and do things right from the start. Thanks for any advice.

    Hi there!

    Changing the theme on WordPress.com is pretty straightforward. With the Block Editor, you can achieve the look you wish with any theme really.

    You can also try themes without activating them by clicking on the three dots next to the theme’s name and choosing the option Try&Customize.

    This will allow you to see how the theme would look like with your content and how could you customize it. So, my suggestion would be to have a look, check out the ones that caught your attention, and play around with them before deciding which one is there to stay :).
