should i buy .org website

    hello,

    I am new to the wordpress environment and I have encountered several problems.

    I noticed while looking into some Youtube tutorials that they have an option called Plugins.
    With some researched I realized the only way I can use the plugins option or edit the css files is if i purchase wordpress .org blog.
    I have a domain purchased several days ago from GoDaddy so my website address ultimately won’t be a wordpress.org domain.
    My question is do I really need to buy the .org domain or is there another way to add plugins or edit css files?
    If there is no other way, is the 18$/year a permanent charge as long as my site is online or is it just until I’ll replace it with my external domain from GoDaddy?

    Yes.

    $18 is the yearly charge for a custom domain. You can cancel it after an year if you wish. But please note that on WordPress.com you can’t add plugins even on the high end business plan.

    What is you need is a self-hosted WordPress.org based blog. Please read the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org first and decide accordingly.
