Should I create subdomain for new product or password protect a page on website?

    If you are experienced what is your opinion on the following.

    Which is better:
    If I want a webpage for just a specific group of people, should I create a sub-domain for a product just for them., or create a password protected page on my current website to target a specific group?
    Details below:

    I have a website, and a product to sell to the public. (A language program for businesses and people who need to learn a language fast.)

    I currently want to target a large group whom I feel would be good for business. I will have a landing page that is specifically written to the way they will the language program. I do not want the public to see the special version made for them it as may give them the impression that my product is a religious product.

    1) They will be sent special promotions to sign up more of their group.
    2) This group will use my product to assist others who belong to the same group.
    3) In the future I may have an app just for them.
    4) Hence, I want to keep track of members of this group. Perhaps with a signup code and a prefix to their membership number.)

    What is the best way to create a promotional landing page for a specific group of people without the letting the public see it?

    Should I create a password protected landing page.
    or
    Should I create a sub-domain just for them? Could I link that sales page back to the main sight so that I don’t have to pay for two payment Gateways? Or would it mean two installs of two of everything, including woo-commerce and paying twice for premium plugins?
