Should I delete .com blog after move to .org with Jetpack?
-
Hi. I started my free .com blog and have now created a functioning self-hosted .org blog. I did not have a custom domain in wordpress.com but obviously now have a custom domain (adventuresinbob.com).
I have installed Jetpack and linked my .org to my .com account.
I saw an answer to a previous question stating that the best way to redirect people from the .com to the .org would be to put a final post up and also some text in a side widgit.
My question is, as I only had 3 posts, only a few replies, and only a few subscribers, what do you think of deleting the .com blog altogether? Will this adversely affect my Jetpack connection?
Thank you for your help wonderful WordPress people!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

option 1
Provided you are logged in under the username account that registered the blog you can delete it by using these instructions. http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/
Please note that deleted blog URLs are not recycled.

You can make the blog private and use it as a test blog and backup blog. http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
You can hide it from dashboard display as well. http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/#my-blogs-dashboard-visibility -
Hey, thanks timethief. I didn’t know about those options – wonderful.
I assume, because you haven’t mentioned it, that neither of these options will adversely affect my Jetpack connection.

Deleting your WordPress.com blog won’t affect your current self-hosted .org site. If you want I can move the followers that were on your WordPress.com blog, to your .org site.
Looking forward to your reply.
