Should I host my domain in WordPress and just conect it to Wix, or transfer?
-
I want to transfer my domain to wix, but I’m not sure what is the best way of doing so. Should I host my domain in WordPress and just conect it to Wix, or transfer it to Wix? I don’t have so much knowledge about how this works and I don’t want to do something wrong that can cost me a lot of time and money…
– If I transfer the domain to Wix, what happens when the domain expires in WordPress? Can I use my free domain in Wix when the domain expires in WordPress?
Thanks!

Hi there!
We suggest that you transfer your domain to Wix, so you can manage your site all in one place. However, you do need to find out if Wix does take incoming domain transfers, of course! If you decide to transfer, here are the instructions:
en.support.wordpress.com/domains/transfer-domain-registration/You are also more than welcome to keep your custom domain name here at WordPress.com and map it to “point” to your Wix site. If you go that route:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/Allowing your domain to expire isn’t a great idea. When a domain expires, it can become impossible for you to repurchase or reregister it. You may lose the domain altogether. Keeping the domain current, either here or with a different registrar is your best bet.
Please let us know if you have any other questions. Take care!

Hi,
Thank you for your quick reply!
So if I understand you right, when I transfer my domain to Wix (they do take incoming domain transfers) I´ll have to pay them for the domain and not WordPress? :)

Yes, that’s exactly right.
If you want to save a bit of money, your domain doesn’t expire here until 10/12/2014. You could wait until you’re closer to your expiration date to move it. Entirely up to you! Whatever makes your life easier.
If you choose to do this, I do advise that you turn off auto-renew here at WordPress.com. We charge the renewal fee one month in advance of expiration, and I don’t want you to be charged when you plan to move anyhow.
You can do this by clicking Store → My Upgrades in your site’s Dashboard and disable auto renewal of your Premium upgrade.
I hope this helps! Take care.

My domain isn´t working as it should. Can you please fix this? To connect your domain to Wix, setup your DNS records as follows:
For yourdomain.com, create an A record that points to: 23.236.62.147
For http://www.yourdomain.com, create a Cname record that points to: www134.wixdns.net
For m.yourdomain.com, create a Cname record that points to: www134.wixdns.net

Hello there,
I do see that your domain now appears to be working properly. When I visit http://www.norskegentlemen.com/ , I am taken to your Wix site.Could you please confirm if things are working well for you now? If things are still not working as expected, please clear your browser’s cache and take another look at your site.
If that doesn’t help, please explain to me precisely how you want your site and your domains to be connected.
Thank you very much!
