Should I link my old wp.com site to the new self hosted wordpress.org site?

I originally started my blog woth wp.com. I then realized that I wanted to monetize the site with ads and affiliate links and moved to wordpress.org under the same name bestdressedginger.com but self- hosting with Bluehost. Do you recommend linking the 2 sites or just deleting the old site? I want to start generating more traffic, and that was a bit easier when I was on wp.com, but now I have affiliate partnerships.
Any help is appreciated, very confused:(

    Hi there,

Since your WordPress.com site is mapped to your custom domain bestdressedginger.com, anyone who tries to visit that site will be automatically redirected to your WordPress.org site. There’s no need to add any extra links between the two. Basically, your WordPress.com site isn’t visible to visitors, because they’ll just end up on the other site.

If you don’t want the WordPress.com site at all anymore, you could set the site to private or delete the site. However, deleting a site is permanent and it means you won’t be able to re-use its free bestdressedginger.wordpress.com address in the future. Just be sure you’re really finished with it before you delete it.

Please let me know if you have any questions about that!
