Should I map my domain or transfer?

  I bought and registered under Bluehost but haven’t bought a sitehosting plan from them.
  I wanted to transfer but WordPress said I’d have to wait 57 days. So I don’t know if I should wait, or get sit hosting from somewhere else and just map it?

  The 60 day wait before you can transfer a domain applies to ANYWHERE you may wish to transfer it. It is not a rule that only applies to WordPress.com. You can of course map your domain here or elsewhere immediately.

  To use your domain with your WordPress.com site, go to My Site ->Plans and buy a paid plan. Then you can connect the domain here using our domain mapping upgrade:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

  Once the transfer lock at Bluehost expires in 60 days, you can then transfer it here.
