Should I Transfer My Domain or Attach It?

    I purchased a domain that I haven’t used on a website or email yet. The domain is good for 2 years (2024). I am looking at building a website on WordPress, should I transfer the domain to WordPress or attach it?

    I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

    Hi!

    Functionally, it really makes no difference. Both work equally well and will send users to your site when they enter your domain into their browser.

    What it really comes down to is if you have opinions on the ease of keeping your site billing in one place (one bill from WordPress.com vs a bill from WordPress.com and a bill from your domain registrar). Or if you have a particular reason to want to use an external registrar (perhaps you have many domains and want to keep them all registered in the same place).
